The Parker

Fort Lauderdale, FL

Sharpe Project Developments completed the historic renovation of a 37,000 SF theater for the Performing Arts Center Authority in October 2021. The Parker, formally known as The Parker Playhouse, was a $26MM renovation that included numerous upgrades such as a new private donor lounge, a signature bar area, upgraded systems, and advanced acoustics.

Most notably, the renovation included an expansion to the theater’s front entrance while capturing the original facade and its historic glory. Special detail was also considered to preserve the historical elements of the facility. Some of these elements included the original railings, art, and finishes.

The design team was led by Wilson Butler Architects, who has outstanding experience with art and theatre facilities. The contractor was a joint venture between Deerfield Beach-based RCC Associates and Fort Lauderdale-based Gulf Building. Ultimately, we delivered the project under budget and in time for the busy holiday season.
